Marci Wise, LMHC /EMDR International Association Certified Therapist
Biography
Marci Wise received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida in Tampa. Committed to providing people with valuable information to help them live better lives, she worked as a news editor, television producer and motivational author for more than two decades. Over that time, she had the opportunity to meet and converse with some of societies most influential people. These encounters fueled a growing passion for discovering the secrets of personal empowerment.
To further this quest, she returned to school and earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. Today, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, she combines effective communication skills with evidence-based practices to help her clients break free from hindrances and meet the goals they have set for themselves. Her counseling philosophy is an integrative theoretical approach, which incorporates the tenets of Positive Psychology, along with Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR Therapy. She believes that in order to reach one’s highest potential, individuals require space to reflect, explore, and challenge their thoughts in order to find greater meaning in their day-to-day lives.
Marci previously offered her services at Counseling and Psychological Services at Florida Gulf Coast University, helping to empower students to achieve greater life satisfaction. Currently she sees clients in both the Fort Myers and Naples Florida areas, where she specializes in co-dependency/personal empowerment measures, couples counseling and EMDR Therapy for Trauma. Marci is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and is an EMDR International Association Certified Therapist who strives to facilitate greater self-awareness and personal growth in all of her clients.
